It has been modified to NZR 'Y' class. Three 'Y' class locos came to NZ in the early '20's for Public Works and were later taken over by the NZ Railways. The model was build in 1974 by the late J O S Miller and is now being run by his son, J O Miller, who has fitted the loco with an extra water tank under the foot plate to extend the run time.
