John Beauchamp's clinker style steam launch - the hull based on an 1800's ship's gig.  At 16' long it was originally powered by a twin cylinder engine similar to the Stuart Turner  'Swan' but this has since been replaced by a single cylinder engine based on the Stuart Turner  'Cygnet'.  The boiler is a gas fired water tube type.  The boat on the right -  in the photo showing two boats side by side - is an identical hull and it is currently being converted to steam power.   The photo at bottom right was taken at the annual Classic and Antiques Boat Show, Lake Rotoiti, in March 2003.

The locomotive in the above three images is a 3.5 inch gauge model of a London Midland Scottish Railway (LMS) class 8F heavy freight loco.  The full size engines were numerous throughout the British Industrial Midlands from 1935 until the end of British steam in 1968.  Although a very well known class, working steam models are rare, mainly due the complexity of an 8-coupled wheelbase and a taper boiler.  The model is close to scale, and was completed in 1997, after a building period of 16 years!  Built by Peter Grounds - CSMEE
